Objo Studio v26.10.5 Released
I’ve released Objo Studio 26.10.5, a hotfix focused on the member renaming problem in 26.10.4. It also includes a few useful additions for working with binary data, along with fixes across the IDE and desktop controls.
The main fix addresses automatic refactoring getting in the way when naming a new member. Correcting a name while setting up a method or property could unexpectedly trigger a rename preview, including after moving to another field in the member’s editor.
In 26.10.5, naming a new member stays local throughout that initial setup. You can correct its name and move between its fields without triggering a global rename operation.
Automatic refactoring is also now disabled by default. If you prefer Studio to offer a reference-aware rename preview when changing an existing declaration or control name, you can turn on Enable automatic refactoring in Settings. The explicit Rename Symbol command remains available from the Edit menu regardless of that setting. View the renaming fix.
There’s a related fix for Find/Replace, too. Changing a class declaration could leave the Solution tree displaying the old name while the Inspector showed the new one. Studio now keeps those names consistent and repairs the mismatch when opening an affected project. View the class naming fix.
There are three additions worth highlighting:
- Signed and unsigned 32-bit integers. The new
Integer32andUInteger32types support arithmetic that wraps at 32 bits. They’re useful when porting checksums, hashes and other algorithms that depend on that behaviour. The existing 64-bitIntegerremains the default. Details. - Unsigned binary reads and writes.
BinaryStreamandMemoryBlocknow provideReadUInt32andWriteUInt32, making it easier to work with binary formats containing unsigned 32-bit values. Details. - Easier chunked binary reading.
BinaryStream.ReadBytesandReadBytesAsyncnow return the remaining bytes when the final chunk is smaller than requested. If your code requires an exact number of bytes, use the newReadBytesExactlyorReadBytesExactlyAsyncmethods, which throw if the file ends early. Details.
Other fixes cover ListBox resize cursors, file drops onto controls inside a PagePanel, and RadioButtonGroup selection events during initialisation. The designer also now respects SegmentedButton preview sizes and displays the correct default colours for RadialGauge and MeterBar. You can find every change in the 26.10.5 release notes.
Thank you to everyone who reported these problems and shared examples. Your reports helped me identify the issues and get this update out quickly.
